Dr. Sumanth K R provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for a wide range of ear, nose, throat, and head and neck conditions. His expertise includes chronic ear infections, hearing disorders, tinnitus, vertigo, sinusitis, nasal obstruction, deviated nasal septum, nasal polyps, allergies, tonsillitis, voice disorders, and swallowing difficulties. He also manages thyroid, salivary gland, oral, and head and neck conditions. With specialized training in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology, he provides advanced surgical care for complex and oncological conditions.

Persistent nasal blockage, recurrent sinus infections, facial pressure, headaches, reduced sense of smell, nasal discharge, or difficulty breathing through the nose may require evaluation by an ENT specialist. While occasional sinus symptoms may respond to medical treatment, chronic or recurrent symptoms can indicate conditions such as chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, allergies, or a deviated nasal septum. Dr. Sumanth K R provides detailed clinical assessment and appropriate medical or surgical management, including endoscopic sinus surgery when conservative treatment does not provide adequate relief.

Hearing loss can result from earwax accumulation, infections, eardrum problems, age-related changes, noise exposure, or other underlying conditions. An ENT evaluation helps identify the cause and determine the appropriate treatment. Depending on the diagnosis, management may include medical treatment, ear procedures, surgical intervention, hearing assessment, or hearing rehabilitation. Dr. Sumanth K R also manages tinnitus, chronic ear infections, eardrum perforations, and other ear disorders. Early assessment is important because timely diagnosis can help prevent progression and improve hearing-related quality of life.

Vertigo is a sensation of spinning or abnormal movement that may originate from disorders of the inner ear, vestibular system, or other medical conditions. A proper evaluation involves understanding the duration, triggers, associated symptoms, and medical history, followed by an appropriate clinical examination. Dr. Sumanth K R evaluates patients with vertigo, dizziness, and balance-related concerns to identify possible underlying causes. Treatment depends on the diagnosis and may include specific repositioning techniques, medication, vestibular rehabilitation, or management of the underlying ear or neurological condition.

Endoscopic sinus surgery is a minimally invasive procedure performed through the natural openings of the nose using a specialized endoscope. It is generally considered when chronic sinus disease, nasal polyps, anatomical obstruction, or related conditions persist despite appropriate medical treatment. The procedure aims to improve sinus drainage, restore ventilation, and address the underlying structural or inflammatory problem while preserving healthy tissue whenever possible. Dr. Sumanth K R has specialized experience in endoscopic sinus procedures and evaluates each patient individually before recommending surgery.

Thyroid surgery may be recommended for selected thyroid nodules, suspicious or confirmed thyroid cancers, large or symptomatic thyroid swellings, or certain conditions that cause compression or other significant concerns. The decision depends on clinical examination, imaging, thyroid function assessment, cytology, and other relevant investigations. Dr. Sumanth K R has specialized experience in thyroid surgery and has also undertaken academic work related to thyroidectomy techniques and outcomes. His approach focuses on accurate diagnosis, appropriate surgical planning, preservation of important structures, and individualized postoperative care.

Dr. Sumanth K R has specialized fellowship training in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology and manages complex head and neck conditions, including oral and other head and neck cancers. Evaluation may involve clinical examination, imaging, biopsy, and multidisciplinary assessment depending on the suspected diagnosis. Treatment planning is individualized according to the location, stage, pathology, and overall health of the patient. His expertise includes complex head and neck surgery and oncological procedures, with an emphasis on appropriate surgical planning, functional preservation, patient counselling, and comprehensive follow-up.

Yes. Children can develop ENT conditions that differ significantly from those seen in adults, including recurrent ear infections, enlarged adenoids or tonsils, hearing problems, nasal obstruction, allergies, sinus problems, and certain congenital or developmental conditions. A pediatric ENT assessment considers the child's age, symptoms, growth, hearing, breathing, and overall development. Dr. Sumanth K R provides evaluation and management of pediatric ENT disorders, with treatment tailored to the child's specific clinical needs. Early assessment can be particularly important when hearing, speech, breathing, or sleep is affected.

Snoring occurs when airflow through the upper airway becomes partially restricted during sleep. It may be associated with nasal obstruction, enlarged tonsils or adenoids, obesity, anatomical factors, or obstructive sleep apnea. Persistent loud snoring, witnessed pauses in breathing, choking or gasping during sleep, morning headaches, excessive daytime sleepiness, or poor concentration should prompt medical evaluation. Dr. Sumanth K R assesses the possible ENT-related causes of snoring and sleep-disordered breathing and recommends appropriate investigations and treatment based on the underlying anatomical or functional problem.

A deviated nasal septum does not always require surgery. Treatment depends on the severity of the deviation and whether it causes persistent symptoms such as nasal obstruction, recurrent sinus problems, difficulty breathing, or sleep-related complaints. When significant structural obstruction does not improve with appropriate medical management, septoplasty may be considered. Dr. Sumanth K R evaluates the nasal airway and associated conditions before recommending surgery. The objective is to improve nasal airflow and address clinically significant obstruction while developing a treatment plan appropriate for the individual patient.

Persistent hoarseness, voice changes, throat discomfort, difficulty swallowing, or a sensation of something stuck in the throat can have multiple causes, including infections, acid reflux, vocal cord disorders, benign lesions, neurological conditions, or structural abnormalities. Persistent symptoms should not be ignored, particularly in smokers or individuals with other risk factors. An ENT examination can include detailed assessment of the throat and larynx to identify the cause. Dr. Sumanth K R provides evaluation of voice and swallowing disorders and recommends appropriate medical, procedural, or surgical treatment.

Dr. Sumanth K R combines specialist ENT training with advanced fellowship training in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology. His clinical expertise encompasses ear, nose, throat, sinus, thyroid, salivary gland, pediatric ENT, vertigo, and complex head and neck conditions. He has also contributed to academic teaching, surgical training, research, and scientific publications. His approach emphasizes evidence-based diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, surgical precision, and clear patient communication. For complex conditions, he focuses on delivering appropriate treatment while considering functional outcomes, recovery, safety, and long-term quality of life.
